About

Jennifer Pak is a Canadian TV, radio, print and online journalist based in Shenzhen, China.

She has had the good fortune to have worked across Canada (even in the frozen north, or as far north as you would want to go), in Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and now in Shenzhen. Jennifer hails from Calgary, in the oil-rich province of Alberta.

When she first headed north she drove a ½ ton pickup truck to “fit in”.  Forsaking her gas guzzling ways, she now takes cheap taxis and rides a bicycle in Shenzhen.  She still hasn’t managed to neutralize her carbon footprint.

Jennifer has covered the missing Malaysian airliner MH370, whistle-blower Edward Snowden seeking refuge in Hong Kong, the 2008 Sichuan earthquake and Beijing Olympics.

You may have seen some of her work on the UK Daily Telegraph, BBC, the Financial Times, CBC, South China Morning Post and various other media outlets around the world.

Jennifer was educated in Canada at Carleton University in the capital, Ottawa. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and gets by just fine in French and Spanish.
